Independent, self-funded publisher and rights-holder. Based in Cardiff, Wales, with satellites in Athens and Asheville — the legal entity, the shop, and the archive behind everything the collective makes, including the flagship story universe, The Hollow Circuit®.
What we do
AOF publishes and sells the work — books, zines, prints, and physical and digital editions — and holds the IP behind it. Every finished piece ships with a Certificate of Authenticity: who made it, when, how. The creative universe itself — games, music, the ongoing story — lives and grows at The Hollow Circuit®.
Why
A face scanned is a face owned. Anonymity here isn’t hiding — it’s a refusal to be indexed, priced, and sold back to you as "authenticity."
How
- No social media grind. We pin a statement and walk away.
- No finished work goes anywhere for free — especially not to a big tech platform we don't own. Shop or paywall, always.
- Trailers and samples stay free. They're the door, not the room.
- Print is sovereign. Paper doesn't train a model.
The IP
Fourteen years of practice, fully registered: The Hollow Circuit®, Hyperstition Architecture®, The Veylon Protocol®, Cognitive Colonisation®. We are the masters of Hyperstition Architecture® — the methodology by which fiction and infrastructure collapse into each other until the boundary is the point. Registered publisher of record with the UK's Nielsen ISBN Agency, under the Art of FACELESS imprint.
The collective
- Lloyd Lewis — founder, theorist, and transmedia artist; writes the frameworks everything else here is built on.
- Seren — Creatrix; puts AOF into print, untraceable, so the work survives off the platforms it critiques.
- V. Tracer — writer, coder, and game designer; turns AOF's fiction into playable systems and physical artefacts that blur the line between story and object.
Art of FACELESS does not ask for your face. It never did.
